Outdoor Reclamation Series w/ Big City Mountaineers

Are you aged 13-18, BIPOC, and curious about the outdoors? Are you interested in going camping or backpacking, but have felt excluded or not known how? This series is for you! The Outdoor Reclamation event series in partnership with Big City Mountaineers is an opportunity for you to build skill, community, and belonging in the outdoors.

We'll start out with a day hike in May, move on to an overnight camping trip, and end with a three day backpacking expedition in the end of June.

  1. Part 1: Day Hike @ Coal Creek Falls Trail | Saturday, May 9th

  2. Part 2: Overnight Camping Trip @ Kanaskat Palmer State Park | Saturday, May 30th-Sunday, May 31st

  3. Part 3: 3 Day Expedition @ Talapus and Olallie Lake Trail | Friday, June 26th-Sunday, June 28th

Participants are not required to attend all three events in the series, but we are asking that participants attend EITHER the day hike (part 1) or the overnight camping trip (part 2) BEFORE the 3 day expedition (part 3).

Cost: $80 for the full series. (Refunds can be processed until April 16th.) Please contact chiomankechi@braidedseeds.org if this cost is a barrier; there are some scholarships available.

The registration form is linked herehttps://pci.jotform.com/form/260766988851174.

Registration closes Friday, May 1st.
